New Gates at Harvest Road and Frontier Road (Spring 2012)

Board members, Charlie, Mike, Fred, Bert, Randy, and Maureen along with Jeff Blumer and Jonathan Nieberding worked to install the new gates at Harvest and Frontier Roads. Special thanks to Landoll's for building the gates.

Grand Opening (May 2010)

Marshall County Connection board spokesperson, Randy Brown, took a large pair of scissors and snipped the ribbon held by member of the Marysville Chamber of Commerce.

 

About 100 people were on hand to celebrate the grand opening of the first two miles of the trail. Festivities included a run/walk, a family bike ride, and a barbecue lunch.

 

Brown spoke of the health benefits of the trail as well as the potential for tourism. Ross Greathouse and Lynn Lightner of the Nebraska Trails Foundation were on hand and shared their thoughts with the gathering. "They've really done an outstanding job," Greathouse said.

Rocky Run Creek Covered Bridge Build (Fall 2009)

The Marshall County Connection Inc. took the existing Rocky Run Creek Bridge and gave it a beautiful face lift with the addition of the new railings and roof. 

Marysville High School FFA Project (September 2010)

The Marysville High School FFA along with sponsers Craig Lister and Jackie LaRue joined the trails board in adding handrails to two bridges on the trail. The materials for the railings were donated by the organizastion. They also began a project to add decking to one of the bridges with recycled lumber that had been donated.

Bridge Build with the Nebraska Trails Foundation (July 2009)

A team of volunteers from the Nebraska Trails Foundation arrived early on a Saturday morning to help local volunteers add railings to two bridges along the first section of the Blue River Rail Trail.
